Makeup Look :: Lilac n Grape..

Hi Gals..

This is the look I wore to a recent fun outing and thought should share how to get this look..
Hope you all like it..

Makeup used..
Eye Shadow Base - Essence Metal Glam liquid eye shadow in Dressed Up
Eye Shadows - MAC eye shadows in Beautiful Iris  and Nocturnelle
Eye Kohl - Essence Longlasting eye pencil in Touch of Glam
Mascara - Loreal Million Lashes Voluminous Mascara

Step 1:
Spread the liquid eye shadow base evenly all over the lid. Use patting motions rather than rubbing for an even application of liquid products.

Step 2:
Set the liquid eye shadow with the powder shadow of same color. I used MAC's Beautiful Iris here. Again, use patting motions to set the eye shadow. This also helps bring out better pigmentation from the eye shadow.

Step 3:
Now use the darker eye shadow to define the crease for that gradual shift in the color towards the end of the lid.. I have used MAC's Nocturnelle for this.
Step 4:
Use the eye shadows in same order to the lower lash line also as shown in the pic.
Step 5:
Use a purple shaded Kohl pencil to define the eye shape. I have used a Essence Long lasting Kohl pencil for this and finish the look with a coat of a volumizing Mascara.

Makeup Look :: Rani Mukherjee Inspired Brown Smoky Eyes

Hi Gals..
Rani Mukherjee has wonderful eyes and she knows how to pull focus onto them..
In 99% of the public appearances she makes, she sports a brown smudged/smoky eye makeup and it is like her signature makeup look.. I am not complaining though because it only adds to her sultry appeal..
So, I thought I should do an inspired look out of it.. which can worn for evening outings.. Hope you all like it..

Makeup used..
Face Primer - Body Shop 'Moisturise It' Primer
Foundation -  Revlon Color Stay in True Beige
Under Eye Concealer - Garnier Tinted Eye Roll On in Medium
                                     MAC Studio Finish Conceale
r in NC40
Eye Primer - MAC Prem + Prime in Medium
Eye Shadows - Urban Decay Naked Palette
Mascara - Loreal Million Lashes Voluminous Mascara

MAC - Eye Kohl in Smolder

Step 1:
Start with your eye makeup when you are using black or darker eye shadows, so that if they spread or something goes wrong, you only have to clean the eye part. The rest of the face makeup can be done at the end.
Firstly, use a black kajal/kohl pencil and draw a rough line tracing the upper lid. The line need not be straight or anything because we are going to smudge it anyways..
Step 2:
Take your ring finger and start smudging the line upwards onto the eyelid till the color is evenly spread.
Step 3:
Now take any frosty brown shade which suits your skin tone and apply it over the smudged black color. I am using a medium brown shade I own. Apply the color in such a way that the black color underneath should be peeking through. Apply the same brown eye shadow to the lower lash line.
Step 4:
If the black starts to look a little faded, retrace the black kajal pencil along the upper lash line again and smudge it out with the brown eyeshadow. Also apply black kajal to the lower water line all along the eye. Apply some mascara to finish the look. As the eye makeup is very intense, keep the lip color and other makeup to minimum...

Makeup Look :: Cat Eye :: Kangana Ranaut - Double Dhamaal Premiere

I dont know if it's me.. but the IIFA 'Green Carpet' was kind of boring..
The ladies were either wearing a 'Smokey Eye' Look or Neutral Colors with Red Lips...

However, Kangana Ranaut wore a Cat eye with red lips for Double Dhamal Premiere in Toronto..
Though not ground breaking, it caught my fancy and I have re-created an inspired look below...

Face Primer - Body Shop 'Moisturise It' Primer
Foundation -  NARS Sheer Glow in Barcelona
Under Eye Concealer - Garnier Tinted Eye Roll On in Medium
MAC Studio Finish Concealer in NC40
Eye Primer - MAC Prem + Prime in Medium
Eye Shadows - Urban Decay Naked Palette Shades 'Virgin' 'Sin' 'Buck'
Liquid Eye Liner - Lakme Insta-Liner
Mascara - Loreal Telescopic Mascara
Lip Stick - Maybelline Color Sensational in Glamourous Red
Blush - MAC Matte Powder Blush in Raizin

Step 1:
Apply the All Over Lid Color evenly using any Eye Shadow Brush.
Deepen the crease of the eye using the Crease Shade for effect of Deep Set eyes.
Add Highlight Shade below the Eye Brow

Step 2:
Using a black eye shadow, Keep your eye open and trace a straight line from the lower lash line outwards as shown in the picture. Using a powder shadow will help you correct and redo the line unlike liquid liners.
Step 3:
Close your eye and join the straight line to the upper lash line. The shape should be somewhat like a triangle.
Step 4:
Start lining your eyes as you would do normally. But make the line little thicker.
Step 5:
After you are confident of the shape of the line, you can choose to darken the line using a liquid liner. Swipe Mascara onto the lashes not upwards but in the direction of the Cat eye wing to emphasize the shape.
Finish the look with a Red Lipstick and Blush on the cheeks  !! Here is the final look...

I enjoyed creating this look.. hope this was helpful...

Origins VitaZing Moisturizer Review

After a long time ( like one year ) I wore only a moisturizer and went to work... !! and that's amazing...

Now, to be honest.. I have a combination skin with minimum blemishes and don't actually need a full face of foundation.. however, out of love for makeup, I started using foundation and now I don't like going out without it...
On the other hand, I have to confess that how much ever light the formulation is, foundation is an additional layer over the skin which we can definitely feel..
Having an even toned skin without that feeling is what Origins VitaZing Moisturizer did for me...

I have some very dry patches on my face.. so moisturizer is a must for me.. and I got this moisturizer as a sample when I bought another Origins product.. so I gave it a try...
I have an NC40 skin ( MAC foundation color ) with lot of yellow undertones...
I apply this product using my fingers and rub in the product as I would do with a regular moisturizer.. the product is originally white/cream in color but as you work the product into the skin, the color changes to almost my skin tone..

Even though the product never claims so, it evens out the skin tone subtly and gives a natural glow to skin...
It does not have lot of coverage in terms of concealing blemishes/pigmentation.. but that's because it is not meant to do that.. I do need to dust some loose powder to the T-zones as it does not give a Matt finish..

I am not sure if this product can be categorized as a tinted moisturizer as there is no inherent shade to the product itself.. but as the person who has used quite some tinted moisturizers.. I can safely say that this product feels lighter than a typical tinted moisturizer.. and to top it, it has SPF 15..

I have not tried it on other skin tones to compare them here.. but for me, this product gets a thumbs up..!!

My Fav Lipsticks at the moment

According to me.. The right shade of Lipstick always takes the makeup to the next level..
I absolutely love 'The Red lipstick'.. but its important to choose the correct Red to suit the skin tone.. If your skin tone has yellow undertones, go for Reds with orange tints.. and if your skin tone has pink undertones, go for Reds with blue undertones..
I generally prefer warmer shades of lipsticks to suit my Asian skin tone.. ( which has some yellow undertones )..

Today I was going through my vanity and thought why not blog about my favorite lipsticks at the moment..
Right to Left: MAC Viva Glam Cyndi, Maybelline Color Sensation - Glamorous Red, Essence Fashionista, Essence Fairytale

MAC Viva Glam Cyndi
This is most amazing red lipstick which is very wearable.. This the 'Go-to' color when I want to pump up the glam quotient.. I heard it's getting discontinued, so I bought a backup of this already. That's how much I love it..
MAC Viva Glam Cyndi
Maybelline Color Sensational Lipcolor
A lovely Red, definitely not a color which would sit in with all the looks.. And I think the shade seems to be discontinued according to their website ( I am not sure though )
Maybelline Color Sensational - Glamorous Red
Essence Lipsticks
Now this brand might not be available in all the countries.. But their products are mostly very cheap ( 5 CHF.- for good amount of product ) and surprisingly are good quality and are very moisturizing to lips.
The color Fashionista is a very neutral color with some orange tint to it.
The color Fairytale falls in the Mauve-Pink family
